“Introspective” Seminar on Mapping of Middle Eastern Studies in Switzerland

Friday 17  October 2014, 13:15 – 15:30

This is a seminar organized by the Contemporary MENA Research Network in Switzerland. It hopes to generate a discussion about the history and the pros and cons of MENA studies conducted from Switzerland. This is also the occasion to get scholars from both Eastern and Western Switzerland to meet each other. Established at the beginning of 2014, this informal network brings together Switzerland-based researchers interested in sharing and discussing research on the contemporary Middle East and North Africa. The network organizes various events. On 5 December 2014, the network will have a thematic discussion in Zurich on the practice of conducting fieldwork in the MENA today. If you would like to attend or join the network please contact: Sarah Sabry E-Mail or Emanuel Schaeublin E-Mail.
